Succulence and Suckitude

Succulent new photographs await. When you’re as busy as I am, you can’t help but feel bad that a full length post is still waiting in the wings. But so it is, and such things should hardly deter you from enjoying the beautimousness of the southwestern United States.
I also owe you (as of this count) reviews of Sky High, Layer Cake, and Fantastic Four. With the way things are going, I’m just not sure when I can get them up. I know, I suck. What can I say. This is Fringe, after all.
I think things may become a tad better for me once I actually move into my own apartment. Until then, updates will be sporadic.

Seal Beach photographs are up, by the way. They’re not fantastic, but considering that it was too bright to be able to set my camera with any certainty, I was effectively shooting blind.

In the Woods

I’ve had the chance to familiarize myself somewhat with my new camera, the Canon PowerShot A75. It’s a sweet little thing, with lots of manual options (which I really appreciate, trying to relearn the art and craft of photography after 6+ years).
I went out last night and took a lot of photos, most of which didn’t really turn out that well, but I’m posting a few that I really like a lot. Let me know what you think. I have not adjusted these photos in post.
(All photos link to 1600×1200 versions of the same. Feel free to download and use as desktop images or whatever. Just don’t sell ‘em.)

Rainstorm Pics

We just had a fantastic rainstorm and I took a few photos with my crappy digital camera. A few didn’t come out, and the rain didn’t appear quite like I wanted it to, but all in all, fairly nice shots, I think.

The lighting was fantastic — with the sun shining through the trees, it caught the wildly bouncing leaves and the glittered drops with a kind of sharpness that you don’t always get with heavy downpours. It’s especially green here now, and we’re starting to get more and more of these kinds of showers.

I gotta say, I’m a fan.
