Charles Krauthammer explains John Kerry’s unplan for achieving international solidarity to rebuild Iraq: sell Israel out.

He really does want to end America’s isolation. And he has an idea how to do it. For understandable reasons, however, he will not explain how on the eve of an election.
Think about it: What do the Europeans and the Arab states endlessly rail about in the Middle East? What (outside of Iraq) is the area of most friction with U.S. policy? What single issue most isolates America from the overwhelming majority of countries at the United Nations?
The answer is obvious: Israel.
In what currency, therefore, would we pay the rest of the world in exchange for their support in places such as Iraq? The answer is obvious: giving in to them on Israel.
No Democrat will say that openly. But anyone familiar with the code words of Middle East diplomacy can read between the lines.

This falls squarely in line with what is prophesied to happen as the end of days grows nearer. Israel will be abandoned by all, and eventually will be surrounded to be slaughtered (see Revelation 20:9). Somehow, I doubt that Kerry’s vision includes this rather fated collision between the returning King and the hosts of Gog and Magog.

Building the Wall They Hate

You know that big security wall the Israelis are building that has got the entire world pissed off? Yeah, turns out the Palestinians have been selling cheap cement to Israel with the full knowledge of Yasser Arafat, who has bitterly opposed the building of the wall.
It’s not like the world needs this to know that Arafat’s a corrupt man who runs a corrupt, illegal contigent of illegitimate terrorist/businessmen thugs, but it certainly does highlight his utter duplicity to both the cause celebre of the Palestinian plight and his hypocrisy to the world.
I’m glad the Mossad failed to assassinate him; he’s done more damage to his side alive.

Strat reports that, in the case of the current Palestinian in-fighting, good fences make good neighbours. I never much liked Robert Frost, but he’s kind of got a point.

End of the Intifada

Charles Krauthammer declares the Palestinian intifada over:

The end of the intifada does not mean the end of terrorism. There was terrorism before the intifada and there will be terrorism to come. What has happened, however, is an end to systematic, regular, debilitating, unstoppable terror — terror as a reliable weapon. At the height of the intifada, there were nine suicide attacks in Israel killing 85 Israelis in just one month (March 2002). In the past three months there have been none.

That is pretty darn amazing. Astonishing, really, given Palestinian preclusion for suicide runs. It’s not over, as Krauthammer notes, but the table has suddenly shifted in Israel’s favour because they dealt with the terror rather than coddled it.

History of Israel and Palestine

John Cross from Drumwaster’s Rant has a nice history and analysis of Israel and Palestine.

So, there is a UN-recognized nation of Israel. There has been a recognized nation of Israel, off and on, for 3200 or so years. There has never, ever been a recognized nation of Palestine, and even with the ‘Phillistine’ tag, never a nation that was made up of Semites, or Arabs, that called itself ‘Palestine’.
Having studied this, it boggles my mind that Yasser Arafat, that pus-sucking, freeloading ass imp, screams about Palestinan Independance. They never had any, never earned any, and would never, ever have had the chance at it, except for the existance of two nations:
The United States and Israel. Only those two nations have offered real solutions to those Arabs that have been led to believe that Palestine exists. Lord knows that the Jordanians, Syrians, Egyptians, Saudis, and Iraqis, have done nothing. Hell, Jordan was supposed to be the Arab part of ‘Palestine’! Look at the Belfour Agreement, and Resolution 181! Jordan has steadfastly refused to give up any territory for the formation of a ‘Palestinian’ state, as have all the other Arab countries that I mentioned. They HATE the ‘Palestinians’, folks…they are scum to the rest of the Arabs. The only purpose they have is that the Arabs can use them as political cannon fodder within the decrepid halls of the UN.

His conclusion: Israel is legit, Palestine is not. Go read the whole thing.

Cross Dressing Gunmen

Isn’t cross-dressing immoral and illegal by Islamic law? So what about the gunmen who disguised themselves as women to fire on a group of Israeli settlers, including some who had gathered for a memorial service for the pregnant mother and her four daughters who were gunned down in cold blood last week.
At least no one was hurt in the attack, and the two gunmen were killed. That they died in women’s clothing is a little extra justice.

As long as terrorists are blowing up themselves only, I suppose I don’t have a problem with it.
