By the way, IE7 Beta sucks. Just the layout is enough to make me think that I’d be better off using a dead cat as a browser than this newest Microsoft incarnation of internet-based evil. I try to keep the geek factor down on Fringe, since not everyone who comes here is a committed desk [...]
The Red State DVD has finally arrived, and only a month late! The moment you’ve all been waiting for is finally here. Red State, the zombie comedy from Jeremiah Lewis, is now available for purchase. The final covers have been printed, the DVDs are burned and awaiting your orders. The pancakes are cooking, the toenail [...]
It’s hard to self promote. At least, I find it to be. My own modesty notwithstanding, I rarely have the fortitude to continue the battle for hearts and minds once I’ve placed my finished sword on the table. As with any creation, without promotion of some kind, it will die a quick death. Infant Death [...]
Hooray! Project Resolution has accepted Red State as its pResentation film for October 30. I’ll be there, smartly. Updates to the Red State site have been posted. Post production is nearly complete, but there’s still a lot of work to be done.
You can now view Zero Sum here. It’s an embedded Quicktime 6 file, so if you have any trouble viewing it, make sure your software is updated. Unfortunately, it is somewhat large (139 MB), but worth it for the video and sound quality. I’ll put up a mirror site within a few days.
I’ll be making Zero Sum available for download as soon as I can find a feasible means of turning 18 minutes of film into a bandwidth-respecting, yet not unrecognizable due to pixel damage file. I don’t do much encoding for the web, so it might take a bit of time.
Zero Sum now has a trailer, with which you may feast your eyes until I can post the film online.
In a bizarre turn, The Jacket director John Maybury, a Hollywood newbie, took pot shots at the films that recently won Academy awards, calling Million Dollar Baby a “piece of shit” and complaining about Thelma Schoonmaker’s editing for The Aviator. He says his new film, starring Adrien Brody and Kiera Knightly, isn’t a tired, formulaic [...]
Two weeks ago I couldn’t stop thinking about what I was going to wear to the Oscars. At first I was thinking I could go with the casual chic that has so marked Michael Moore’s career: trucker hat emblazoned with a Gothic ‘B’, large button-up number, brown, extra-wide pockets, XXXXL blue jeans (slightly worn at [...]
In a given day I can hop from converting massive amounts of old Word Perfect files into the modern (and stylish!) Word documents that are more common and popular, to something completely different, like say, playing Half-Life2, for which I have nothing but praise, to listening to the soundtrack to Sabrina–the 1995 Sydney Pollack remake, [...]
