Fifty Word Fiction

The Weekend After

Words disgorged like a river: Stolen. Destroyed. Flooded. Breath. Black. She had shrunk within herself as it happened, then had to grow, or else the knowledge would consume her. She checked for pregnancy, then sat in the back of church where no one could see how dead she was.

  2. Hey Blythe, nice to see you stop by! Are you still writing? Do you have a website I could check out?

  3. I’m a new visitor. I am liking your “fifty words.” Come check out my flash fiction/short fiction blog sometime. Some, although not all, of the pieces, concern themselves with aspects of the faith. I’m an MFA student at Seattle Pacific University, a program which studies the intersection between art and faith.
I look forward to reading and checking in more.
    Meg
