2004 Oscars

In Memorium

Not overly impressed with the video segments the Academy has put together this year. It’s not as if an amateur with After Effects (such as myself) couldn’t do the very same thing. Still, I suppose they’re trying to keep with the theme of Old Hollywood. Simple. Sadly, not overly elegant either.
Oh well.
Yo Yo Ma was a good choice for the montage, and the musical choice, whilst not obvious, was a good one. You could almost feel the crowd welling up in tears when Marlon Brando’s name came up, and he said the classic lines, “I coulda been a contender. I coulda been somebody.”
Overall, a nice memorium.
