when i first saw him in the comments i thought, “wow, i liberal Christian!…maybe he’ll have something interesting and informative to add to the discussions.”…i was disappointed…

In this war, it is America that is the occupying force. We are the ones with troops stationed oversees, and it is the Muslims which are fighting for their ‘freedom’ – freedom to practice their religion without interference from the outside world. So if anybody is attacking anybody’s ‘freedom’ it is us. The attack on the World Trade Center was an attack on American Capitalism and Multi-Nationalism. These are the ideas were are defending. We Americans need to understand that and stop pretending to be so god-damned ‘holier-than-thou’.

I hate to hypothesize this, but is it possible that there is actually enough SUPPORT for these actions in the muslim world that a mass protest is not going to happen. Certainly I’ve heard many muslims denounce these actions as precisely UNislamic; however, is it possible that most followers deep down think the terrorists are furthering a good cause and therefore it’s justified? That any muslim innocents are martyrs because this is a Jihad?

That is correct. So your question and mine still stand — why isn’t the Muslim world protesting terror, and why doesn’t there seem to be any effort to stop terrorism in their midst? Dead by the hand of terror, be it Muslim bombs and hijackers or Israeli gunship “collateral”, is still dead, and there should be more of an outcry against the causes of such atrocities.
