Political Rants

Haikus for Beslan

I’m curious: where are the mass demonstrations against the Islamic terrorists in Beslan? Where is the worldwide Muslim outcry against the horror that is the death cult of Islamic fascist fundamentalism? Michael Moore calls them Minutemen, the Freedom Fighters of the Islamic Revolution. The EU cowtails to their demands, wanting Putin to “negotiate”. Negotiation implies reason. It implies two or more willing parties. There is no reason here, only madness and death.
They shot and starved us
Though we are but school children
Religion of Peace
Have you heard the news?
Chechnya fights for freedom.
Bullets for children
The people with bombs
who kill kids aren’t terrorists–
they are activists.

  1. What is the reasoning behind 1000+ dead American soldiers and tens of thousands of dead Iraqi civilians? What is the reasoning behind the promotion of the “Bush Doctrine” which is nothing more than a few wealthy families lining their already fat pockets under the flimsy veil of U.S. foreign policy?

  2. Hmmm. Reasoning? 320+ starved, dead schoolchildren and teachers.
    300+ dead in Madrid.
3,000+ dead New Yorkers, DC’ers, and a couple hundred dead per flight on 9/11.
All the victims of suicide bomb attacks, pipe bombs in markets and public buildings, and victims in hijacked airplanes.
All the victims of a pacifist, “multilateral” ignoring of worldwide terror. A just war with innocent dead is still a just war.

  5. Those are some fine Haiku.
I’m not sure if they’re funny or depressing or both.

  6. Typical chickenhawk. Bok,bok, bokk… I fear for this country when people like you claim to be on the path of righteousness and goodness. The Bible has taught you nothing! I’m sure it is sitting there, right next to your computer. A special place for it, all alone, so as not to be fouled by the other books of men. As you read this, you glance over to it giving you some kind of reassurance that you are one of the chosen few and that your place in the eternal kingdom of God is secure. Think again, your faith is hollow just as the faith of most Christian fundamentalist’s is hollow. You will be counted among the enemy of all that is virtuous and Holy. I pray for your soul.

  7. Darwin: I intended them to be mostly depressing…
Jonathan: Why are you attacking my faith? You know nothing about me. As it so happens, my Bible is right near my bed. But thanks for praying for my soul. Just not sure what I’ve done to provoke all your animosity.

  8. Right On, Jeremiah. (original post). This is something I’ve been thinking about a lot recently. If i’m not mistaken, many of the Russian schoolchildren that died were muslim. Why isn’t the muslim world crying out against terrorism? Where are the mass demonstrations? Is this any more or less foul than when a bus explodes in Israel? Or when innocent children in Gaza are killed by Apache helicopters? How can the Muslim world cry out for some innocents but not others? And I don’t think “official” statements by heads of arab states is enough of an out-cry. There needs to be action… there needs to be a public outcry.

  9. The animosity is provoked because of your political position. This is a persistent and growing trend among the liberals in this country, made worse by the Bush Jr. presidency (which even I do not like) and compounded by the false notion that Bush “stole” the election.
Basically, liberals want you to think that they are open-minded, progressive, and inclusive – and for the minority of them on the extreme, this is a carte blanche when you disagree with them. Then they seeth with hatered and anger (never mind that they don’t KNOW you!) and become more close-minded and exclusionary than the trustees of BJU! (and so Holy and Christ-like, I might add!)
This is why I hate both extremes of the political landscape and prefer to classify myself as a centrist. At least I can seperate a person’s humanity from their political views. Even better I can discuss the issues with those who disagree with me in a logical and sane way and perhaps even (gasp!) LEARN something.

  10. If i’m not mistaken, many of the Russian schoolchildren that died were muslim.
That is correct. So your question and mine still stand — why isn’t the Muslim world protesting terror, and why doesn’t there seem to be any effort to stop terrorism in their midst? Dead by the hand of terror, be it Muslim bombs and hijackers or Israeli gunship “collateral”, is still dead, and there should be more of an outcry against the causes of such atrocities.

    Posted by Jeremiah | September 9, 2004, 4:41 pm
  11. I hate to hypothesize this, but is it possible that there is actually enough SUPPORT for these actions in the muslim world that a mass protest is not going to happen. Certainly I’ve heard many muslims denounce these actions as precisely UNislamic; however, is it possible that most followers deep down think the terrorists are furthering a good cause and therefore it’s justified? That any muslim innocents are martyrs because this is a Jihad?

  12. In this war, it is America that is the occupying force. We are the ones with troops stationed oversees, and it is the Muslims which are fighting for their ‘freedom’ – freedom to practice their religion without interference from the outside world. So if anybody is attacking anybody’s ‘freedom’ it is us. The attack on the World Trade Center was an attack on American Capitalism and Multi-Nationalism. These are the ideas were are defending. We Americans need to understand that and stop pretending to be so god-damned ‘holier-than-thou’.

  14. First of all, Patrice, I don’t have any questions. I am well aware of what is going on. That is more than I can say for you. If you ever have an origimal thought, then you can respond to what I have to say, until then, keep your mouth shut and keep diapering yourself with the American flag. Any website that has links to FOXnews has got to be legitimite, right? What a bunch of Bull Shit! You Bushbots have been brainwashed! Amerika Uber Alles! You are turning this country into a Nazi state! I hope all you Christain fundamentalist burn in Hell. Because that is where you are going to spend eternity. As far as I am concerned you are all enemies of the state!
