  1. I’m a little unclear on where the mandate to “rebuild Iraq” using my tax money came from. I’m a little unclear on why, if our stated goal was to remove the threat of nonexistent WMD, we translate that into “completely rebuild a country that doesn’t want us there”. I’m a bit unsure on how we managed to convince ourselves that Iraq was a clear and present danger to “let’s turn Iraq into a democracy”. It is this distrust of the motivations for what we have done and the agenda we are pursuing that is going to cost Bush the WH in November. The ironic part is that to a large degree, he has painted himself into a corner that he can’t escape from. Thus, like his father, will be a one-term wonder. And to think of all the political good will and national backing he squandered after 9/11….
