Gary Sauer-Thompson believes the time has come and gone for the notions of rights and choice to be used in conjunction with so-called ‘reproductive rights’. He points to an image by Patricia Piccinni that illustrates the sentience of a fetus in the womb. It’s an oddly constructed image that seems more in line with text book medical illustrations than an art exhibit, but perhaps that is its point.
