And the LORD commanded us to observe all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that He might preserve us alive, as it is this day. Then it will be righteousness for us, if we are careful to observe all these commandments before the LORD our God, as He has commanded us. (Deuteronomy 6:24, 25)
Welcome to the Christian Carnival! The expectation of holiness and righteousness for us as believers has been set before us. How does God want us to walk that path?
Messy Christian posits that forgiving is hard work, but it’s necessary for the soul.

Songstress at News from the Great Beyond muses on God being one of us. Christ identified with us in His life and His death.
For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:17)
IntolerantElle questions the practice of pouring more of God’s monetary blessings into brick and mortar than into reaching lost souls.
I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness. (Romans 6:19)
Parablemania proves Christianity through Biblical sources…without falling into a vicious circular argument!
And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!” (Isaiah 6:3)
Clay at Spare Change gives a biblical response to an almost biblical question: What is God’s will for my life?

“He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still. And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” (Revelation 22:11-13)
May you increase in righteousness and holiness, for the Day of the Lord cometh, and Him right soon!

It’s Christian Carnival Time Again
The Christian Carnival is up at Fringe Blog…
Crazy Gator (a blog I hadn’t ever visited) writes a bit about why we continue to sin after we are saved. If you are like me and you like logical arguments, you will find this one that gives evidence …

Carnival of the Carnivals
Here is your weekly dose: Carnival of the Vanities Christian Carnival Bonfire of the Vanities The Watcher’s Council Happy Wednesday….
I would like to participate next time, but I would be more motivated if the host for the carnival picked a theme. What do others think of this idea? (I emailed Nick Queen who runs the carnival and he wasn’t sure if that would go over well, so that’s why I’m asking for feedback)
I enjoyed picking the theme – I think that’s one of the nice things about the Carnival is it allows the host to choose how to present all the posts. For me, it was also a good time of exploring the Word.
Jeremiah, I see what you’re saying. What I meant was that the host for the coming week would pick the theme in advance and post it to his/her blog. That way our choices of what to post for the carnival would be narrowed down. The host would still provide commentary on each post and it would be easier for him/her to tie them all together.
Christian Carnival is up at the Fringe
Go check it out, the Fringe has done a great job!…
Well, but then you’re limiting the freedom of the poster to write about whatever they want. The Carnival’s a way to expound upon whatever’s on your heart, not what’s on the host’s heart…
I second what Jeremiah said. With the current numbers, it’s easier for the host to tie everything together than ask bloggers to write about a specific topic.
I agree, Dawn. The poster should have the freedom to be creative with the way they present/arrange the posts. I’ve never seen a Christian Carnival poster do that before, but I’ve only been blogging for 5 months.

Christian Carnival
This weeks Christian Carnival is being hosted over at Fringe. Go by…check it out…and say Hi to Jeremiah!…
I expect that that’s one of the thing that attracts people to these carnivals. They get to take what they feel is their best post for a given week, instead of having to conform to some code.
survey says “aaaaa”
Far be it from me to make anyone’s freedoms, particularly creative ones, feel stifled. I saw it more as a way of getting a range of voices on a particular topic, kind of like a magazine…hmm…my wheels are turning now…perhaps my idea will take on a life of its own in another format…stay tuned…
