This article, dated January 7, is about the Democrats’ plan for tax relief, which included a $300 rebate for “virtually every working American,” and notes that it is in response to Bush’s proposed tax relief. According to Nancy Pelosi, Bush’s plan “would not have a stimulative effect and would not create jobs.”
The new Democratic leadership team under incoming Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California criticized the Bush plan, saying it would not provide an economic stimulus in 2003 when one is needed, and would reward high-income taxpayers.
